Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin are the Fathers of Hockey, literal Hockey Dads and tonight they played in their 900th game together. But before we get to that, let’s backtrack.
The Ovi and Nicke dynamic is 2nd to none and the duo is known across hockey for their polar opposite personalities that work so well together. It’s why they’re almost like Hockey Dads, they are different from other hockey duos because their success has been so intertwined for the literal day they were drafted. They’re two superstars that respect and look up to one another and have made Washington such a powerhouse while also giving grade A media content. Thus THE Hockey Dads.

Together, they’ve put up 737 goals. Ovi has scored 680 goals in his career, Nick has assisted on 557 of them. Nick has 239 career goals and Ovi has an assist on 180.
Not only did Ovi and Nicke celebrate 900 games, but Nicklas Backstrom also put up 4 points (2G 2A) to reach 900 NHL Career Points!
