Kirby Dach Scores in Shootout to Bring Blackhawks Victory

If you’re new here then you might not know that Ham Sports is on the Kirby-Dach-Is-A-Star Train and today, Kirby Dach proved his stardom once more.

Yesterday, the Blackhawks took down the Boston Bruins, who are on fire right now, and on the second half of this back to back, the Blackhawks pulled out another “W”. Which was perfect for Mom’s Weekend. The game tonight against the Devils went into OT, teams tied at 1-1, and inevitably a shootout with some big names going to bat.

The Blackhawks sent Jonathan Toews (G), Patrick Kane (G), Alex DeBrincat (S), Dylan Strome (S), and last but not least Kirby Dach (G).

The Devils used Nikita Gusev (G), Jesper Boqvist (G), Kyle Palmieri (S), Taylor Hall (S), and lastly Jack Hughes (S).

It was perfect that the top draft picks from this past draft, Hughes (1st) and Dach (3rd) were able to go head-to-head in the shootout and the Chicagoan in me is preening at the fact that Kirby Dach won it out in the end.

It was Dach’s first shootout attempt and goal and another lovely fact was that his mom was there to see it all! Plus Dach earned First Star of the Game for his efforts.

The Blackhawks are now 12-12-5 but they’re facing some major injuries with the loss of Duncan Keith, Olli Maatta, Andrew Shaw, and Drake Caggiula. The Hawks are off until Sunday night when they face the Coyotes back in Chicago.
