The NHL Players Saftey announced today that Alexander Kerfoot has been suspended 2 games following a cross-check against ex-teammate Erik Johnson.
Kerfoot owned up to his mistake. He told the press this:
Kerfoot is a standup guy for this. He fucked up and he knows that so he’ll take the sentence. He has always seemed like a respectable kid, owning up to his mistakes and that really shows here.
The hit wasn’t intended to go this wrong, there was no maliciousness involved. If anything, I’d say 2 games is just one game too long. Yes, that’s an at to Robert Bortuzzo’s scumbag play against the Predators. (Give him a longer suspension, you cowards.)
Kerfoot will be eligible to return this upcoming Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres.
