The Boston Bruins are just 14 games into the season and they are already finding major success. With a team that’s 11-1-2 this early, there are 4 players that seem to be pulling a large amount of the load.
Where some problems begin to arise is with the fact that only 4 Boston players have more than 6 points right now. The amount they do have is what is carrying the team. It’s fine to have early but as the season drags on, the kinks in the armor are going to show.
David Pastrnak has already scooped up 29 points. The 23-year-old winger has a point in the last 12 games which set a Bruins record:
For points, Pasta has gone 0-0-3-2-1-4-3-2-2-1-5-1-3-2 over those 14 games. I talked in early August about what potential Pastrnak had heading into this season and he is definitely delivering.
Pastrnak isn’t the only Bruin blowing the competition out of the water.
Brad Marchand is at 28 points with a 5 point (2G 3A) game last night. Marchand has points in 13 of 14 games and they line up as 0-1-3-1-2-2-2-1-2-1-5-1-2-5. Marchand also set some records of his own:
Following them in points is Patrice Bergeron (15 Points) and Torey Krug (11 Points) after them most of the roster falls further down the wagon. The remainder of the roster has between 6 and 0 points with a varying amount of games played. The extreme talent the team has is carrying them. The lacking depth scoring hasn’t caused a major problem for the club yet.
The Bruins are 11-1-2 and have 52 goals for with just 31 goals against. They’re outshooting opponents 465-440.
Things are looking up but teams are finding their footing and are going to be gunning for the Bruins’ crown. Nows the time to get your legs under you and book as fast and as far as you can.
