Honka Goes To Finland

Julius Honka has signed a contract with Finland’s Liiga league team JYP Jyväskylä. It comes as no surprise after Honka requested a trade from the Dallas Stars. Honka’s time in Dallas has seen him to just 87 NHL games in 3 seasons. He had 13 points (3 G and 11 A) in those games.

A separation between the Stars and Honka isn’t a bad idea. Honka never got the time he wanted in Dallas to it is understandable that he wants to play elsewhere. There is an opt-out clause in Honka’s contract that allows him to come back to the NHL if he receives an offer as long as it is before December 1st.

Best of luck to Honka on his future with JYP Jyväskylä!
