Scottie Upshall Fighting For One More Season

Scottie Upshall has played 15 seasons in the NHL and he’s fighting for one more pro season, this time with the Dallas Stars. The 35-year-old has been all over the NHL and this time he’s taking his talents south to Dallas Texas.

Upshall didn’t play last season but maybe a years rest could be used to his advantage. He’s played 2 preseason games with the Stars’ group. Upshall played 13:53 against the Wild and 12:40 against Colorado.

In his first against the Wild, Upshall had a -1 rating with 2 PIMs, 2 SoG and 1 blocked shot. In his 2nd game with the Stars, Upshall stepped up. He had 1 goal with a +1, 4 shots on goal with 6 hits and 4 PIMs.

Upshall turns 36 in a few days but if things keep going well for him, he could find himself on the Stars’ roster. The Stars have $970,001 left in projected Cap space. With the climate of this team’s projection and the roster of who they have now, it’s going to be a tough challenge but leave it to Scottie Upshall to go above and beyond.
