The LA Kings signed 27-year-old goaltender Jack Campbell to a two-year extension that kicks in after this upcoming season. This is the last year on Campbell’s current contract where he’ll make an $675,000 AAV.
Starting in 2020-21, Campbell will get bumped up to $1,650,000 AAV.
Last season, Campbell played in 31 games with 25 game starts. He had a record of 10-14-1, holding a .928 SV% and 2.30 GAA. On top of that, Campbell had hist first 2 shutouts.
This will give LA some confidence considering they’ll have the kid locked up for some of his prime years. Backing up Quick is an important job and this kid can really hold his own out there. This year, the Kings are hoping for a bounce back season and having Campbell in net will be a solid start for their year.
