Andre Burakovsky Is On the Move And This Can Be Great For the Avs

The Avs have picked up 24 year-old winger Andre Burakovsky in exchange for right winger Scott Kosmachuk, a 2020 2nd Round Pick, and 2020 3rd Round Pick.

Andre apparently requested to be traded according to this post from the Washington Post. This can be a big fresh start for Burakovsky.

Burakovsky had 12 goals and 13 assists this season in 76 games. He had a rough season, his numbers dropped to 11:08, he had a +2, and a 35% Faceoff win percentage. But this kid has amazing potential on the ice and I think he’s going to fit in well with the Avs.

The team did well this season and adding a young player like Burakovsky will only push their dream of a Cup further. They’ve got Nate MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, J.T. Compher, and Alexander Kerfoot are all under 24 as well so adding Burakovsky into the mix could boost their team game and Burakovsky’s game at the same time.

I’m not gonna be pissed about this trade, this could be FANTASTIC. Burakovsky has a Stanley Cup under his belt so he knows what it takes to get there. Off the ice, his personality fits the locker room, just more kids for Gabe to protect. Sorry Nicke and Tom. But I’m excited to see Burakovsky on the ice with the Avs, they can build some awesome Swedish Chemistry and dominate the league. Whose to say, only time will tell.
