Here is the video if you missed it: (excuse the quality)
Chara did come back to the game in the 3rd period but he never played. He only played 8 minutes in the game. Rather than getting off the ice and spending the rest of the game in the locker room or trainers room. Chara was on the bench hyping up his team, like a true captain.
Rumors have raised about whether Chara broke his jaw or not and whether he’ll be ready for Game 5. Boston Coach Bruce Cassidy just told the media that Chara was headed to a doctor but nothing more. Bruins defensemen Charlie McAvory did say:
“Both of those players [referring to Chara and Matt Grzelcyk, injured in Game 2], they’re warriors. They’ll do whatever it takes to play.” (x)
There was more gilded talk than any real answers. But the only thing to do is pray that Chara returns. In this post season alone Chara has played in 20 games with 1 goal and 4 assists, he’s riding a +12 with only 14 PIMs. He’s blocked 40 shoes, laid out 48 hits, and has 4 take aways. More than that, he’s Boston’s leader. Without him the ship can sink and personally (as a Chicagoan and Dallas Stars fan) I can’t take to see St. Louis Win.
