The Boston Bruins are just 1 win away from sweeping the Carolina Hurricanes and their success comes from the man in net.
Goaltender Tuukka Rask has been a brick wall for the Bruins in net. It’s no surprise to anyone whose seen Rask play. He’s got a career save percentage of .921 and a goals against average of 2.28. The man has always been strong for his team.
In this playoff run, however, Rask has been on a tear. He’s played in 16 games with a 11-5-0 record. He’s faced 525 shots and only allowed 32 goals! That’s a .939 save percentage! Rask has been the Bruins’ backbone, providing support even if the team have struggled with their production.
Rask had some outrageous saves during Game 3. He was allover the puck, stopping 35 of 36 shots on goal, maintaining a .972 save percentage.
The Bruins can end this series this Thursday in Game 4. Rask will need to be on his game to secure a sweep and send the Bruins to their first Conference Finals since 2012.
