The Stars season may have ended but two of the players are heading over to Slovakia to represent their country. John Kingberg and Radek Faksa are headed over to Worlds. Both players have been a big help to their counties’ team in the past and it’s expected for them to put up big points in this tournament.
Radek Faksa, playing for the Czech Republic, will be making his 3rd Worlds appearance (not counting Juniors). Over the last 2 appearances he’s played 11 games with 3 assists. Faksa was huge for the Stars this season. In 81 games with 15 goals and 15 assists. Radek adds some physicality on the ice so him joining the Czech team gives them an advantage that a few teams lack.
John Klingberg will play with team Sweden at Worlds for the 4th time. Klinger has played in 27 games with 5 goals and 13 assists. Last time, Klinger wore an ‘A’ for his home country. This season with the Stars, John only played in 64 games due to a hand, but he was the best defenseman the Stars had. He had a whopping 10 goals and 35 assists. The Swedes are gaining a great player, hopefully to secure one more Gold Medal.
Both countries are gaining great players to their rosters. Plus it’s great for Stars that they’ll get to see these players further their game this summer. Two less golf Instagram stories I’ll have to watch, so everybody wins.
