Stars Take Series After Stressful Game 6

The Dallas Stars are trying to kill me this season. BUT THAT’S FINE BECAUSE ROUND 2 BABY!

The Dallas Stars took on the Nashville Predators in Game 6 of their series and took it into overtime where the Stars pulled out a victory!

The actual game was more back and forth than anything. The Stars didn’t start on the best note. Nashville took the lead early into the first period, scoring at 5:47 into the period. The Stars were outshot 19-10 in the first 20. In the 2nd period, Blake Comeau came up big a goal in the second to tie the game.

The remainder of regulation remained scoreless. Shots totaled to 40-37 with the Preds leading. Nashville power play continued to fail. The Preds had 5 power play opportunities and scored on 0 of them, leaving them 0/15 in this series.

In overtime, the Stars started off strong. Both teams battled back and forth fr control but the Stars shined bright under pressure. Stars vastly outshot the Preds, 14-8. In the end, John Klingberg reined King and scored off a Alexander Radulov pass, 17 minutes into the first OT.

In this game, Miro the Hero lived up to his name. The 19-year-old played 32 minutes with 3 shots on goal, 3 takeaways, and 2 blocked shots. The kid has been hot for the Stars and he’s only going to thrive moving forward.

This series was an absolute battle. The Stars have pulled ahead and are continuing on into the 2nd Round against the St. Louis Blues. Game between the Blues and Stars tend to get chippy, most of Jamie Benn‘s iconic petty moments have happened in games against the Blues so this will be an entertaining set of games.

The Stars have won 3 of the 4 games against the Blues this season with 13 goals for and 7 goals against. The Stars will have a few days before they take on the Blues but until then they’re going to be resting up and focusing on playing better.
