The Dallas Stars Are Headed To Playoffs

The Dallas Stars are headed to the playoffs for the first time since 2016!

The Stars defeated the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday and were able to clinch their spot in the playoffs. This was the Stars’ 3rd attempt at clinching a spot.

Their first was on March 30th against the Vancouver Canucks. The Stars had to win the game to pull through but they lost after 8 rounds in a shootout.

The Stars next chance was left to the hands of the Minnesota Wild. The Wild just had to beat the Arizona Coyotes on March 31st and the Stars were in. Of course, the Wild went on to be shutout to the Yotes and fall 0-4.

Tonight was circled on Stars fans’ calendars. The team could clinch their spot by snagging just one point from the game and it would be final.

The Stars’ roster got a bump up at the game start with the announcement that Mats Zuccarello, who was on IR since February 24th, would be back in the lineup and starting the game. From the jump, the Stars were ready to rock.

The game opened up with fire, 2 goals in the first 5 minutes. The opening goal came from Jason Dickinson, who hasn’t scored a goal was December 3rd, 2018. The next one was by Esa Lindell with a between-the-legs goal that’s absolutely unbelievable.

In the second period, the Flyers tied it up. But not for too long. Alexander Radulov pulled the team into the league and Tyler Pitlick, in his 2nd game back, added to it.

Going into the 3rd, the Stars couldn’t be stopped. Blake Comeau added one early and Alexander Radulov dropped in for his second of the game. The score was 6-2 with just under 10 minute left.

The American Airlines Center was on their feet. It was a moment of “they can do this. After all the horse shit of this season, they can do it.”

And they did.

The game ended 6-2 and the AAC erupted. And the Dallas Stars are secured back in the playoffs.
