Tyler Ennis Making Case For Better Contract

Tyler Ennis (or as I like to call him, TEnnis) of the Toronto Maple Leafs netted his first Hat Trick tonight.

Ennis has had an up and down season. Tyler played in 33 games before breaking his ankle. In those 33 games, Ennis had 7 goals and 4 assists with a -1 rating. Ennis broke his ankle in the December 22nd game against the New York Rangers and remained out until February 16th. In the 7 games since his return, Ennis has 5 goals and 1 assist bringing his to a total of 12 goals and 5 assists this season.

The Maple Leafs have to make a decision to either resign Ennis or let him walk come July 1st. With the Leafs having a number of players going up on free agency, Ennis may be one of the players who is going to walk. Ennis has a cap hit of $650,000 which is one of the cheaper contracts they have.

If Ennis continues at this rate, he could be looking at good deals from teams looking to sign him.
